Miss Potter: a novel. [Richard Maltby, Jr.] -- A fictional account of how a Victorian woman goes against the odds to become a children's book author and experiences, for the first time, success, independence and, most unexpected of all, love.

Aside from its short run time, and the fact they add too much material, which kind of makes the film a bit uneven, overall Miss Potter is a very good movie, one that is a surprising drama that is 67%(). A fictional account of how a Victorian woman goes against the odds to become a children's book author and experiences, for the first time, success, independence and, most unexpected of all, love.

Set in the early s, MISS POTTER offers a fictionalized life of famous Peter Rabbit creator Beatrix Potter as she pursues a career as a children's book author and illustrator.

Beatrix's whimsical ducks in bonnets and bunnies in brass buttons (which appear as animations) represent her feelings -- most often mild defiance or frustration at her parents' hopes that she'll marry a man within. “Miss Potter” is easy on the eyes. The first movie directed by the Australian filmmaker Chris Noonan since his sleeper hit, “Babe,” 11 years ago, it has the same pastel storybook palette.

This book is a novelisation of the movie "Miss Potter", written by the film's scriptwriter Richard Maltby. It is set during the time when bestselling author and illustrator Beatrix Potter wrote and published her most famous tale, about the enduring and beloved character Peter Rabbit/5(12).Miss Potter is a show the whole family can enjoy.

It gives the story behind the publication of the Tales of Peter Rabbit and the other well-loved tales of Beatrix Potter. I particularly enjoyed this film becuase it showed the difficulties and restrictions placed on women 5/5(2).
